Digi-Dhan Mela: Assam's Big Cashless Drive

In a major step towards cashless economy in Assam, Chief Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated Digi-Dhan Mela at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati on January 11, 2017.
The two-day festival is aimed at giving a boost to financial inclusion and digital literacy. During the event, the Chief Minister unveiled Assam's own e-wallet Tokapoisa and also launched an e-payment portal for the state.
To give cashless transaction a boost, similar awareness campaigns is scheduled at all Gaon Panchayats across Assam.
The event attracted nearly 150 stalls from different financial institutions, showcasing their individual initiatives and futuristic plans.
